A published rubric for a purchase that has been hard to compare.
Credentialing Scorecard lists 39 credentialing software platforms and managed services on one published rubric, with a source for every score. It is operated by Metolius Health, which is one of the vendors listed.
Who runs this site. Credentialing Scorecard is operated by Metolius Health, a credentialing company listed in our Software and Managed Services tracks. We score it with the same rubric and code as every other vendor. Discovery calls on this site go to Metolius Health. No vendor can pay for placement. Full disclosure
Who runs Credentialing Scorecard?
Metolius Health runs it. Metolius Health provides managed credentialing and provider enrollment to medical practices and groups, with its Metolius platform included, and medicalcredentialingservices.com is one of its websites. Because it sells in the same market we cover, it is listed on this site, in both the Software and Managed Services tracks, and scored like everyone else.
Two other Metolius Health companies are also listed in the Managed Services track: Physician Practice Specialists (PPS) and Provider Enrollment Services. Both are marked “Same owner as this site” wherever they appear, and scored the same way.
Why does it exist?
Buying credentialing software or a credentialing service is hard to compare. Most vendors quote privately, demos look alike, and some firms advertise an NCQA status that NCQA’s own directory does not show.
What do we cover?
- 20 software platforms for teams that run credentialing in-house. Software
- 19 managed services and CVOs for teams that want it done for them. Services
- The Credentialing Briefing: a quarterly issue plus dated field notes on vendor news and rule changes. Briefing
- Guides on cost, DataSpring (formerly CAQH), and choosing software or a service. Guides
How do we keep the conflict in check?
We can’t remove the conflict, so we publish the rules that limit it:
- The rubric is fixed and published first. 18 dimensions with set weights, published before any vendor was scored. Methodology
- No source, no score. Every dimension score links to a dated source. Without one, it says “Not yet verified”.
- One code path. Metolius Health is scored by the same code, with no override. Where it lacks evidence, that shows in public.
- Every change is logged. Score changes and rubric changes are dated and public.
- No pay-to-rank. Vendors can reply to or correct a listing with a source. None can pay for placement, coverage or removal.
- Labeled calls to action. Wherever we invite you to book a call, we say that it goes to Metolius Health.
Who writes it?
Articles and field notes carry the byline “Credentialing Scorecard editors”. Our editorial standards explain how we source, correct and date what we publish.
