What does Medallion buying Andros mean for plans that delegate to Andros?
Medallion announced on September 15, 2026 that it had acquired Andros, an NCQA-certified credentials verification organization that has worked with health plans, health systems, provider groups and telehealth companies since 2013. Terms were not disclosed. The announcement says Andros customers will gain access to Medallion’s features “over time” and gives no migration timeline.
What to do: NCQA delegation credit follows the certified legal entity and its certified elements, not the brand. If you delegate to Andros, confirm who will hold the certification after migration, check the current NCQA report card, and ask for the migration timeline and service-level continuity in writing.
How we list it: Andros stays in both tracks under its own name, labeled “Acquired by Medallion,” until its customers migrate. We will re-score it then.

On its early-August earnings call, HealthStream said CredentialStream revenue grew approximately 14% year over year in Q2 2026, citing conversions from its older credentialing products.
What to do: If you are on an older HealthStream credentialing product (CredentialMyDoc, MSOW or Echo), ask HealthStream about its plans for that product and time your renewal around the answer.

Assured announced a $19 million Series A on July 22, 2026, led by Insight Partners with First Round Capital and Kindred Ventures. It sells AI agents that do credentialing and enrollment work, not just track it.
What to do: Tools like this blur the line between software and a managed service. Ask for audited turnaround data rather than headline percentages. We are not repeating the company’s own performance figures.
How we list it: added to the Software track at launch.

On June 11, 2026, MedTrainer added privileging to its credentialing platform: auto-filled privilege delineation forms, electronic signatures from providers and board members, board review routing and status tracking.
What to do: Ambulatory and mid-market groups that bought a separate medical staff office tool for privileging can check whether one platform now covers it.

How do you check a CVO’s NCQA status?
Look it up in NCQA’s certification directory, not on the CVO’s website. NCQA lets a CVO be certified for any subset of up to 11 verification elements, and a delegating plan gets automatic credit only for the elements certified. Credentialing accreditation is a different program from CVO certification. The directory also shows scheduled, expired and denied statuses, and our census found firms whose websites claim a status the directory does not show.
Example of partial scope: Propelus announced in May 2026 that it earned CVO certification in 7 verification categories, valid through April 27, 2027. That is real certification, but not full 11-element coverage.
How we score it: NCQA status on every Managed Services listing comes from the directory, re-pulled each quarter, with the element count shown.

NCQA’s credentialing program page lists 2027 standards for surveys starting July 1, 2027 through June 30, 2028. The substantive changes are not public; the standards are sold by NCQA.
What to do: if you delegate credentialing, ask your CVO whether it has reviewed the 2027 standards and when its next survey falls.

Is DataSpring still free for providers?
Yes, as of September 22, 2026. CAQH became a for-profit company in January 2026 and rebranded as DataSpring on June 8. ADA News reported on June 10 that it is owned by 12 health-plan-affiliated shareholder companies, that the ADA Credentialing Service remains free with “no interruption in service,” and that the ADA will “hold the company to its agreement” to keep it free. We found no announced fee, attestation or data-access change for providers.
What to do: nothing yet. Practices, and the credentialing services that maintain their profiles, should watch attestation and data-sharing terms under payer ownership.

What to do: track compact privileges as their own credential type, separate from home-state licenses.
