Credentialing software platforms, compared on one rubric.
The 20 platforms we track for teams that run credentialing in-house. Every platform is judged on the same 18 dimensions, and scores link to their sources. Most documented capabilities first, with scope and evidence coverage shown together.
What is credentialing software?
Credentialing software is a platform your own team uses to collect provider documents, verify them with primary sources, track expirations and move payer enrollment applications along. The work stays in-house; the software does the tracking, and in some platforms part of the verification.

Most documented capabilities first. Documented capability scores describe sourced scope, not performance. Compare evidence coverage alongside each score; this is not a ranking.
Default: most capabilities documented as fully or partly supported; ties A–Z. This is not a quality ranking. Unknown and confirmed absent capabilities do not add to this count.
"Built for" reflects each vendor's stated market, from our Q3 2026 census. It is a description, not a score.

How are credentialing software platforms scored?
Each platform is judged on 18 dimensions: 12 capability dimensions worth 60% of the composite and 6 quality dimensions worth 40%. A dimension is scored only when we have a cited source for it, and a documented capability score appears after eight capabilities including the four core areas are evidenced. Overall ratings also require quality evidence.
- Capability: can it do the work? Primary source verification, payer enrollment, re-credentialing, expirables, sanctions, privileging and more.
- Quality: how well? Ease of use, support, implementation, security and compliance, value, and pricing transparency.
- Evidence: every dimension score links to where we read it, with the date.
Questions about credentialing software
How much does credentialing software cost?
Most platforms we track do not publish prices, so you will need a quote. We score pricing transparency as its own dimension, and we never present third-party estimates as a vendor's price. What credentialing software costs →
Do I need software or a managed service?
Software fits teams that have credentialing staff and want control of the work. A managed service fits teams that want the work done for them. We score them on separate tracks. Software vs. a managed service →
Which platforms handle privileging?
Hospital-focused suites usually do, and some ambulatory platforms have added it; MedTrainer added privileging in June 2026. Each profile shows whether privileging is evidenced. The Briefing note →
Are any of these platforms NCQA-certified?
Some software companies also hold NCQA credentialing certification for their verification work. We record it from NCQA's directory on each profile, never from vendor marketing.
