Who owns this site, how it makes money, and what that means for what you read here.

The short version

  • Operated by Metolius Health. Credentialing Scorecard is owned and run by Metolius Health.
  • We are on the list. Metolius Health is a credentialing company, and it is listed and scored in both our Software and Managed Services tracks.
  • Our sister companies are on the list too. Physician Practice Specialists (PPS) and Provider Enrollment Services, also owned by Metolius Health, are listed in the Managed Services track and marked “Same owner as this site”.
  • The money comes from discovery calls. When you book a discovery call on this site, it goes to Metolius Health, which may become your vendor.
  • Vendors can’t pay us. No vendor can pay for a listing, a better position, coverage in the Briefing, or removal.
  • The rules are public. Our scoring rubric was published before any vendor was scored, and it applies to Metolius Health exactly as it applies to everyone else.

Who owns Credentialing Scorecard?

Metolius Health owns and operates it. Metolius Health sells managed credentialing and provider enrollment, with its Metolius platform included, so it competes with some of the vendors on this site. medicalcredentialingservices.com is one of Metolius Health’s websites.

Is Metolius Health listed on this site?

Yes. It is listed in both tracks: its managed service is one of the 19 in our Managed Services track, and its Metolius platform is one of the 20 in our Software track. Both listings are marked “Operates this site” wherever they appear. It is scored with the same rubric, from the same kind of cited evidence, by the same code as every other vendor. There is no manual adjustment for it. Where we lack evidence for it, its profile says “Not yet verified”, in public, the same as for anyone else.

Are other companies owned by Metolius Health listed?

Yes, two. Physician Practice Specialists (PPS) and Provider Enrollment Services are Metolius Health companies, listed in our Managed Services track. Each is marked “Same owner as this site” on the leaderboard, and its profile says so at the top. They are scored by the same rubric and code as every other vendor, with no override.

How does this site make money?

Through discovery calls for Metolius Health. Some pages, mainly in the Managed Services track and our guide to choosing between software and a service, invite you to book a call. Those calls go to Metolius Health, and every one of those buttons says so.

We do not:

  • sell placement, sponsorship or “featured” positions to any vendor;
  • charge vendors to be listed, reviewed, corrected or covered in the Briefing;
  • remove or hide a listing, a score or a user review because a vendor asks or pays.

Software pages stay neutral: they do not carry the discovery-call button.

Does this mean the scores favor Metolius Health?

That is the risk, and it is why we publish the rules that limit it. The rubric and its weights were fixed and published before scoring. Every score links to its source. Composites appear only when a vendor’s evidence clears the same threshold. Every score change and rubric change is logged with a date and reason. You can check any score against its sources, and any vendor can challenge one.

We will not describe this site as free of bias. We are a listed vendor. Read our scores with that in mind, and check the sources.

Can vendors respond?

Yes. Any vendor can reply to a listing or send a correction with a source through our vendors page. Corrections that change a fact change the listing and are logged. Vendors cannot pay us and cannot have a listing removed.

What about user reviews?

Readers can submit reviews. They are moderated and shown separately from our editorial scores. Metolius Health does not submit reviews about itself.

Does Metolius Health appear in the Briefing?

Only when there is news about it, and any Briefing item that mentions it carries an inline note that it operates this site. Its score changes are logged like everyone else’s.
