What are the alternatives to Medallion?
It depends on why you’re looking. Groups wanting another all-in-one platform, health plans wanting an API-first tool, hospitals needing privileging, and teams that would rather outsource the work each have different options. Andros is no longer one of them: Medallion acquired it on September 15, 2026.
What does Medallion do?
Medallion sells credentialing, payer enrollment, licensing and monitoring software, used by provider groups, payers and digital health companies. It also offers managed credentialing, so we list it in both tracks. NCQA’s directory lists it (as FirstLayerAI, Inc. dba Medallion) as certified under NCQA’s credentialing certification program, as of September 15, 2026. It does not publish prices.

What does the Andros acquisition mean for Medallion buyers?
Medallion announced on September 15, 2026 that it had acquired Andros, an NCQA-certified CVO serving health plans. Terms were not disclosed, and Medallion gave no migration timeline. If you were comparing Medallion with Andros, you are now comparing two parts of the same company. Plans that delegate to Andros should confirm which legal entity will hold the NCQA certification after migration.
We keep Andros listed under its own name, labeled “Acquired by Medallion”, until its customers migrate. Read the Briefing item

Should I replace Medallion with software or a service?
If you have credentialing staff and want control, compare platforms (directions 1 to 3). If the work itself is the problem, compare managed services (direction 4). Medallion sells both, so it’s worth asking which part you’re unhappy with.
